Southern Cross began in February 1997, when six well-seasoned musicians started a classic rock/dance group to play local bars and small private parties. The idea quickly exploded into one of the greatest rock'n'roll/party/dance bands that the Bayou Country has ever seen! The group has seen some changes in its tenure and has prospered from each individual who contributed to its cause.
One thing that has not changed, is the name, "Southern Cross!" For all of you out there who don't know, the Southern Cross is one of the most familiar constellation in the southern hemisphere. (SEE GREEN ARROW) Ironically enough, the crux or Southern Cross is comprised of five individual stars that light up the southern sky! Explorers of the southern hemisphere used the Southern Cross as a guide to sail through the times. By looking up at the stars, they could use the crux to figure out which way they were going. The Southern Cross brought people where they needed to be, much like today!
Today, Southern Cross is a well-oiled machine comprised of five rockers that can entertain the toughest critics! Whether you are a musician or a party animal, you are in for a surprise when these guys take the stage! The group prides itself on its diverse ability to move from decade to decade through rock'n'roll history, while throwing in the occasional dance/party popular favorites!
