Clay Adams - (vocals, keyboards, guitars, harmonica, acoustic guitars, percussion) Raceland, LA boy from the heart of Bayou Lafourche who taught himself the keyboard by the age of 12. By the age of 17, he had already stormed onto the local music scene! His hobbies include writing/recording/giggin', biking on his 1978 HD low rider, fishing, golfing, and relaxing on the farm with his beautiful wife "Casey", my dawg "Rudy" , and champion horses "Blue" & "Gingerbread!" Clay's influences include Billy Joel, Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, Johnathan Cain, Steve Perry, The Beatles, Bob Seiger, The Stones, John Mellancamp, and the list goes on and on! He has opened shows for Wet Willy and performed for piano bar audiences throughout south LA. He contributes much of his successes to, "My parents, my music teacher - Ed Barker had a major influence on my interest in music!" Clay has already accumulated approximately 15 years of performing on stage as a professional! His most favorite personal trait is the energy he brings to the stage!
Nicki Rhodes - (vocals, guitars, madolin, acoustic guitars, percussion) Since 1983, this distinguished vocalist has entertained audiences all over the southeastern United States. Nicki owns and operates his own recording studio in downtown Houma. His influences include Robert Plant, Steve Perry, & Don Henley. Nick enjoys writing, recording, performing, and "just hanging out with the guys for a beer at The Balcony!" He has performed on stage with Randy Jackson of Zebra and does a great acoustic act with Frank-E! He is most proud of his vast experiences in music and his natural repore' with audiences. Prior to "Southern Cross," Nick recorded his first solo album called "Imaginary Lines."
Lightnin'" Dufrene - (vocals, lead guitars, acoustic guitars) Flashing before your eyes, this dynamic guitarist has been playing professionally for 33 years! Emerging from the Bayous of Raceland, LA, Lightnin' has the family blood of The Dufrene Brothers Band. He enjoys playing classic rock, blues, soul, etc. His influences are Duayne Allman, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, Neil Schon, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He spent years with Halifax, Masquerade, Chantz, Bus Riley, and Axis... Lightnin' has the experience of backing up Head East, Huble Pie, Johnny Van Zant, Steppenwolf, and many more. He enjoys listening to the sounds of Journey, the Allman Brothers, Kansas, the Eagles, Boston, Queen, etc. Outside of his music life, he enjoys fishing, watching movies, and "shooting cats with a squirt gun!!!" Lightnin' loves to perform and feels the most comfortable when he is on stage!
"SCUBA" Steve Avet - (vocals, bass guitar , lead guitar & roadie from hell) This Houma, LA native has been on the local music scene since he was 15 years old, he's an ole bitch now! His hobbies include writing/recording/jammin', fishin', playin' softball, coachin' softball, and chillin' in the backyard kicking up a BBQ and sucking down a couple of cold beers with the boys. Scuba also loves going hang out at the beach or going camping with his lovely wife Dawn & his kids Tabitha & Zachary . Influences include, Getty Lee cuzz he is da man also Corey Duplichen who I really thank for hooking a brother up with a lesson every now then with some funk .SCUBA comes from a softball team called "The Scrubs" who started calling me that and the name stuck! Other than that, it don't mean shit!"
Joey Ougel - (drums, percussion, electronic drums) This musical veteran from Larose, LA has accumulated 32 yeats of professional experience as a percussionist! Joey is versital and enjoys playing many different styles of music including rock, country, blues, R&B, cajun, etc. His influences include Ringo Star, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Keith Moon, John Densmore, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, etc. He has performed with such acts as Percy Sledge, Frankie Ford, Ernie K-Dor, Jean Knight & the Platters, and Vin Bruce... He has opened shows for Blood, Sweat, & Tears, Chubby Checker, Bobby Blue Band, and many more. He began his career in a band called Pegasus, spent a number of years in the 70's with Halifax, and enjoyed several years with Blue-Eyed Soul. When he's not playing, Joey enjoys going out and listening to live music and chillin' at the beach.
